The entry for this church in Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Bartholomäus_und_St._Georg_(Volkach)] [accessed 27 March 2023] reports a baptismal font bearing in its base the coats of arms of Prince Bishop Friedrich von Wirsberg, those of the town of Volkach and of the church wardens Johann Schwan and Cunz Rücker; also on the font is a scene of the Baptism of Chirst and figures of St Mary, the Resurrection and the Twelve Apostles; the Baroque cover, of 1750, has a Baptism of Christ scene as well: "Der Taufstein von 1559 weist im Sockel die Wappen Fürstbischofs Friedrich von Wirsberg , der Stadt Volkach und der Gotteshauspfleger Johann Schwan und Cunz Rücker auf. Mehrere Reliefs zeigen die Taufe Christi , seine Mutter Maria , den auferstandenen Welterlöser und die die Zwölf Apostel. Eine Figurengruppe aus Holz stellt die Taufe Christi dar. Sie wurde wohl um das Jahr 1750 für die barocke Erneuerung der Kirche geschaffen." [NB: not clear whether the whole cover is from 1750, or just the sculptured finial]. The side panels of the basin have pairs of round arch-heads without the centre supports; one panels is wholly taken over by the Baptism of Christ scene; the next panel to the right has the Coronation of Mary in Heaven; the two panels to the left of the Baptism of Christ have James the Greater in pilgrim garb (left) and Jude holding a staff (right); in the panel right of that one (left of the Baptism of Christ), are James the Less with a book and his saw (left) and Philip holding a halbard or spear (right);
