The entry for this town in Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Georg_(Tettnang)] mentions a baptismal font of 1582 bearing the names of three local Montfort noblewomen ["Gräfinnen"]: Anna von Lobkowitz, Barbara von Fürstenberg and Ursula von Solms, carved on the basin. The font consists of a round tub-shaped basin decorated with a broad flat moulding at the upper rim; the inscriptions are carved all around it, between a series of blank shields that may originally have been painted; the base is a square pedestal with a square top section, at least two of its sides are decorated; one panel of this square top bears the coat of arms of the county of Montfort: "Argent a gonfanon gules with three tips and three rings of the same" / "In Silber eine rote Kirchenfahne mit drei Hängseln (zwei Zinneneinschnitten ) und drei Ringen von derselben Farbe"; the contiguous side (on the right) of the same square top of the pedestal base, bears three blank shilds that might have been painted originally; the rest of the pedestal base is blank; the short square lower base or plinth is modern. There is no font cover present but the sides of the basin show remains of metal anchorings that would have been used to secure a cover.
