An entry in the Heimatverein [https://www.schwaebische.de/regional/allgaeu/wangen/es-ist-niemand-gewollt-der-kritisch-ist-664643] [accessed 12 March 2023] announced the completion of the baptismal font restoration in 24 October 2019, and the plan for its relocation inside the church, where it will then be used as a holy-water stoup: "Der historische Taufstein ist laut Vorstand Hubert Jörg (von der Kirche) saniert und die Pläne zur Aufstellung werden konkreter [...] Genutzt werden soll er als Weihwasserkessel." The completion of the project was published in the Mitteilungsblatt Deuchelried, nr. 51-53, 18 December 2020 [https://www.deuchelried.info/fileadmin/pdfs/Mitteilungsblatt/Blättle_51-53.pdf] [accessed 12 March 2023]. The old basin is shown in the interior of the church [cf. ImagesArea] mounted on a new pedestal base; the basin is roughly hemispherical, with a band of varied motifs and symbols all around. The present font in use is modern, made of reddish marble; it consists of a hexagonal basin raised on a round baluster-shape pedestal base; its base is a heaxagonal dome with a figural finial; also modern.
