A photograph of 18 July 2019 by Elcom.stadler [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bad_Koetzting_Mariae_Himmelfahrt_Taufstein.jpg] [accessed 11 March 2023] shows the large tub-shaped basin in the context of the church interior [cf. ImagesArea]; the sides of the font show a number of figures that are now very faint, but the caption suggests it may include the Baptism of Christ scene as well as a number of Apostles: "Großer Taufstein im Mittelgang unter der Empore auf neuem sechskantigen Marmorsockel. Außen an der Schale sind schwach die Umrisse von Personen zu erkennen. Möglicherweise sind Jesus und Johannes der Täufer im Kreis der Apostel bei der Taufe Jesu im Jordan dargestellt." The shape of the basin and the look of some of the carved figures suggest an earlier date than do the trefoils and some other details on the font. No cover present but there is evidence on the upper rim of metal anchorings for an old cover.
