The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed February 2023] notes: "tiene otra iglesia, dedicada a Santa María, renacentista de 1573 [...] La portada es gótica, del siglo XIII, con arquivoltas, algunas decoradas, muy deteriorada [...] La pila es renacentista, de 1576, con leyenda y escudo de los Velasco, fuste estriado y base circular moldurada." The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin with panelled sides enclosing floral motifs, except where the large heraldic symbol stands out; inscription with date below the rim; fluted pattern on the underbowl and on the cylindrical pedestal base; tiny octagonal lower base or plinth. No cover present but there is a metal staple from a cover anchoring.
