Church Notes: medieval church re-built 19thC; badly damaged in WWII
Of the two baptismal fonts in a catalogue of the Musée Unterlinden of Colmar, one, listed as No. 145, is described as covered in lovely Gothic decoration of interlaced wood, originally from Mittlewihr. Below a protruding moulding a vine runs all around the basin sides, each panel separated from the next; the underbowl and upper base are covered in an interlace as noted above, and the lower base, also octagonal has little shelf-like motifs on the sides; dated 1480; much damaged/eroded. No cover present.
