Das sechseckige gotische Bronzetaufbecken in Kelchform ist von lübscher Herkunft...(Wiki)" According to the above the font was made in Lübeck and was donated by Beno Korp, bishop of Arosia [NB: the GC-Catholic site [http://www.gcatholic.org/dioceses/former/vast0.htm] [accessed 27 January 2023] identifies Beno Henrici Korp as bishop of Västerås (Sweden) (1388 – ?)]. he metal [bronze?] baptismal font consisting of a a hexagonal basin raised on an also hexagonal pedestal pase with three supporting couchant lions; the upper rim is double moulded; each of the tapering sides has an Ogee arch supported by a pinnacled shaft at the corner of the basin side; the arch itself is richly decorated and has a quatrefoil motif in a circle in the centre; inside the arch is a standing figure; five of them appear to be Apostles, the sixth is a Madonne and Child; the lower end of the basin is moulded, like the upper one; the hexagonal base is decorated with a large moulding in the centre; three couchant lions support the lower base. There is no font cover present but the upper rim has anchoring spots for the locking of a cover.
