A baptismal font and two holy-water stoups are noted and illustrated in 7 Maravilhas da Igreja Matriz de Caminha [http://7matrizdecaminha.blogspot.com/2011/02/pias-de-agua-benta-e-baptismal.html] [accessed 29 December 2022]: "A pia baptismal possui uma tampa em madeira, colocada já no século XX, à qual se acrescentou uma - entretanto desaparecida - tranca metálica, de modo a evitar que os fieis levassem água benta para casa, medida tomada como forma de limitar as crendices e superstições." The stone [granite] font itself consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorate with human heads, foliage and garlands(?), raised on a round moulded pedestal base with what appear to be two animal heads; one of the sides of the basin is badly scarred by the metal anchoring used for an earlier cover; the present cover is modern [cf. supra], octagonal, plain flat, hinged in the middle.
