Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM62006945] [https://www.pop.culture.gouv.fr/notice/palissy/PM62006945] [accessed 28 December 2022] as a composite baptismal font of the 12th, 13th and 16th centuries, the base part made of Tournai limestone: "Fonts baptismaux [...] 12e siècle ; 13e siècle ; 16e siècle [...] Base en pierre de Tournai, fût en maçonnerie et cuve en pierre blanche [...] La base est datée du 12e siècle ou du 13e siècle ; la cuve et le fût datent du 16e siècle [...] H = 110". Patrick Wintrebert, in the entry for this church in the Fondation La sauvegarde de l'art francais [https://www.sauvegardeartfrancais.fr/projets/royon-eglise-saint-germain/] [accessed 28 December 2022] mentions "une base de fonts baptismaux romans, en pierre de Tournai" from the old furnishings. Wooden cover has round platform with raised scroll ribs and tall knob finial.
A communication from Pol Herman to BSI (e-mail of 21 August 2022) notes: "[...] 12th century Tournai-type font. Information approved by Jean-Claude Ghislain by e-mail of 20th of April 2022. I cannot find this font in any document about Tournai-type fonts." [NB: the lower base of this font appears indeed to be the type that is square and has on the upper surface the moulded bases for a central shaft and four outer colonnettes, which would have been the original support for a table-top font; the material of the old base appears also to be a Tournai limestone]
