The presence of two baptismal fonts among the Museum Schloss Prestegg holdings is noted in the article Zwei bemerkenswerte Taufsteine im Museum, in the 7 August 2015 edition of Tagblatt [https://www.tagblatt.ch/ostschweiz/rheintal/zwei-bemerkenswerte-taufsteine-im-museum-ld.198729] [accessed 25 December 2022], one from 1661, which is believed to have originated in the Altstätten Stadftpfarrkirche, and may be a composite since the base has an epitaph ["Weile Wanderer hier am Grabe, denn hier ruht ein braver Mann, der durch keine Gunst und Gabe nie des Unrechts Ränke lernte, nur auf Pflicht und Rechtsspruch sann."] belonging to a gravestone. The second font in the Museum was acquired for the new parish church in Altstätten in 1805 by Moosbrugger aus dem Bregenzerwald for 250 guilders.
