An article by Sigrid Aschoff in the 14 August 2021 edition of the Thüringer Allgemeine [https://www.thueringer-allgemeine.de/regionen/eichsfeld/taufstein-der-kuellstedter-kirche-zieht-um-id233041105.html] [accessed 16 December 2022] informs and illustrates the move of the 15th-century baptismal font in this church from its earlier location beneath the tower to a more open space in the nave. The font consists of an octagonal basin decorated with a flat moulding at the upper rim, one(?) wheel symbol on one of the sides of the basin, the others decorated with pairs of trefoiled arches or windows; this tracery is repeated on the sides of the underbowl; the obase is also ocragonal, with a prominent moulring atop, the sides de corated with piping or ribs. No cover present but there are two metal plates on the upper rim of the basin where anchoring for a cover may have existed.
