Church Notes: medieval chapel became parish and collegiate church in the late-14thC; re-built after 1725 fire; modified/renovated 19th and 20thC
Font Notes:
Listed in Meier-Kreiskott (2011) as a heavily restored late-15th century baptismal font made of red sandstone, consisting of an octagonal basin on a possibly later base; gives measurements: "H. 0,94 m, D. 0,93 m; Rotsandstein". Noted and illustrated by Andreas Keller in Kirchen Online [http://www.kirchen-online.org/kirchen--kapellen-in-baden-wuerttemberg/horb---stiftskirche-heilig-kreuz.php] [accessed 14 December 2022] as a baotismal font of the 15th century located in the baptistery, the northwest corner of the demi-aisle on the north side; the font consists of an octagonal basin with plain sides and arrised underbowl, on a short circular base likely of a later date. The carved metal cover is modern.
