The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed December 2022]: "Su espectacular iglesia está dedicada a San Juan Bautista. Es renacentista con reminiscencias románicas con sus interesantes canecillos del siglo XII, aprovechados en la nueva construcción de principios del XVI [...] la pila es gótica, sin adornos y base poligonal". The entry for this village in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_BISJUECES.pdf] [accessed 6 December 2022] as 16th-century Renaissance, but retains nine Romanesque corbels of the original late-12th century building, now installed on the south wall of the present church. The font consists of a plain roughly hemispherical basin raised on a moulded octagonal squate base. There is no font cover present but the upper rim of the basin has two metal anchorings from a previous cover.
