Noted in Theo Engeser und Konstanze Stehr, Jühnsdorf, 2003 [http://userpage.fu-berlin.de/~engeser/potsdam-mittelmark/rottstock/rottstock.html] [accessed 3 December 2022] as a baptismal font of the late-Romanesque period; dated in the Gothic period by Pfeiffer (1997): "Merkwürdig ist auch die Datierung des eindrucksvollen spätromanischen Taufsteins in die Gotik durch Pfeifer (1997)." The entry for this church in the Evangelischer Pfarramtsbereich Brück [https://kirche-brueck.de/kirche-brueck/rottstock-2/] [accessed 3 December 2022] describes and illustrates a baptismal font believed to have been retained from an earlier, late-Romanesque(?) church that preceded the present one; it is octagonal at the top and made of sandstone; the base, also of sandstone but square is a later replacement. Illustrated in the entry in the Landkreis Potsdam-Mittelmark Fotos [https://www.staedte-fotos.de/name/galerie/kategorie/Deutschland~Brandenburg~Landkreis+Potsdam-Mittelmark.html] [accessed 3 December 2022].
A communication to BSI by Pol Herman (e-mail of 30 November 2022) notes that the Romanesque sandstone basin, probably from Lehnin originally stands on a later-date base (according to the parish priest) ["Der sandsteinerne Taufstein mit seiner kurzen Kelchform stammt aus romanischer Zeit. Er ist unten rund und im oberen achtseitigen Teil aussen mit Bogenornamenten versehen. Der viereckige Sandsteinsockel gehörte einer späteren Zeit an. Soll aus Lehnin stammen (dixit Pfarrer)"]
