Font Notes:
The entry for this church in the wuerzburgwiki [https://wuerzburgwiki.de/wiki/Heilige_Schutzengel_und_St._Jakobus_der_Ältere_(Gaukönigshofen)] [accessed 24 November 2022] notes and illustrates a baptismal font brought over from the earlier church; it bears the date 1593 and the initials HR, which identify Hans Rappolt, the stonemason who made it: "Der Taufstein aus der Vorgängerkirche von 1593. Die Initiale H.R. beziehen sich auf Hans Rappolt, einen lokalen Bildhauer des ausgehende 16. Jhds." The font consists of an octagonal basin with moulded upper side and an inscription on the underbowl; raised on an octagonal-to-square pedestal base with carved sides (lion head, standing human, etc.), and a square lower base with fraded mouldings on the sides. The cover appears to be a wooden sculpture, painted and gilded.
