The animal decoration on this font is compared in Wolfgang Gresky's Das Einhorn vom Medaillonteppich im Thuner Schlossmuseum und andere Schweizer Einhorn-Darstellungen, in Historisches Museum Schloss Thun 1968, to the one at Amsoldingen, although the individual figures vary notably. This font, of which only the basin is original, combines real (stag, etc.) and fabulous (siren, dragon, etc.) animals on the panels of its octagonal basin; the underbowl has a graded moulded all around. No cover present.
