Church Notes: church documented 1462; burned down in the Thirty Years' War; re-built soon thereafter; re-built 1732;
Baptismal font salvaged from the previous church; given its date, 1635, it was probably donated to replace the previous font likely to have been destroyed when the church was burned down in the Thirty Years' War. The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with angels heads, and inscription between moulding and some stylised foliage on the underbowl; raised on a baluster-shape stam very much of the period, decorated with foliage all around, and a roll moulding atop; round-to-square lower base decorated with four heads -not clear whether they are humanoids- hooded in large leaves; there is an inscription on the lower base as well; the two sets of inscriptions on the font are: 1) around the basin, below the upper rim; 2) on the lowers base; they identify Margarethe Ullmer as the donor and 1635 as the date. There is a font cover present, wound and with a ball finial/handle.
