The entry for this church in the Evangelische Kirchengemeinde Nassau/Lahn mit Winden [https://ev-kirche-nassau-winden.de/johanniskirche/] [accessed 31 October 2022] mentions an early-Gothic baptismal font in this church; the font has an octagonal basin decorated with a double moulding below the upper rim, and a row of trefoiled arch-heads below; raised on a broad central shaft and four outer colonnettes; the base appears modern, a later replacement. Metal font cover with bird finial; modern. The Städel Museum [https://sammlung.staedelmuseum.de/en/work/taufstein-aus-dem-kloster-arnstein] [accessed 31 October 2022] has a 12 July 1867 drawing [inv. no.: 10726-10806] of the basin by Karl Theodor Reiffenstein captioned with "Kloster Arnstein" as identification, so it should be assumed it was originally from that monastery church. [NB: the Premonstratensian monastery at Arnstein was founded in 1139; it was dissolved in 1803].
