Heike Liesaus' article Reibitz: DDR-Betonschale entpuppt sich als alter Taufstein in the Leipziger Volkszeitung [https://www.lvz.de/lokales/nordsachsen/delitzsch/reibitz-ddr-betonschale-entpuppt-sich-als-alter-taufstein-T3XEOOSXBLCOOP5GMGIHNPRA7Y.html] [accessed 30 October 2022] notes and illustrates the basin of a medieval dug up in Reibitz [cf. infra]; the object is octagonal with a rounded underbowl; it has very simple decoration, a torus-scotia-torus below the upper rim. [cf. BSI entry for Reibitz No.2 for the later font in use in this church]
A communication from Pol Herman to BSI (e-mail of 9 July 2022) includes an English summary of the article above: "Found while cleaning up a burned out youth centre in Reibitz. What was earlier thought to be a concrete tub turned out to be an old baptismal font, and it was dug up by Roger Vogel and his helpers, much to the surprise of Pastor Taatz; he decided immediately that the new-found font would be moved into the church.
