The entry for this church in the Datenbank der Kulturgüter in der Region Trier [https://kulturdb.de/einobjekt.php?id=6238] [accessed 29 October 2022]. Burkhard Okfen's Berglicht – Chronik eines Hunsrückdorfes (1975) informs that during the excavation work in 1913, a Romanesque baptismal font was found; parts (fortified tower, baptismal font, altar table) and Gothic (choir, tabernacle, sacristy) of the Romanesque predecessor building were included in the new building of today's pilgrimage church from 1913/14.
