Burkhard Okfen's Berglicht – Chronik eines Hunsrückdorfes (1975) informs that during the excavation work in 1913, a Romanesque baptismal font was found; parts (fortified tower, baptismal font, altar table) and Gothic (choir, tabernacle, sacristy) of the Romanesque predecessor building were included in the new building of today's pilgrimage church from 1913/14.
