Confusing source/identification of font? The [https://kirchengemeinde-stadland.jimdofree.com/st-vitus-kirche-in-schweiburg/förderkreis-use-kark-schweiburg-e-v/geschichtliches/] [accessed 28 October 2022] states that the altar, pulpit and font in this church were a gift from the church of Rastede: "Altar, Kanzel und Taufstein sind ein Geschenk der Rasteder Kirche."
A communication fomt Pol Herman to BSI (e-mail of 4 July 2022) includes an English version of a German (?) source: "The church building in Schweiburg exists since 1762. The many deadly storm surges on our coast are inextricably linked to the history of Schweiburg and thus of our church. For more than a thousand years, the inhabitants of our coastal region have stemmed the encroachment of the sea through almost unbelievably laborious dike construction work. In the course of the past centuries, many places and parishes in the Jade Bay were abandoned due to the flood events. The lost villages of Jadele and Alessen have been places of great importance for centuries. Alessen was famous as a market and a mint. There was a monastery in Jadele. In 1148 the Oldenburg Count Egilmar and his wife were buried in this place. Due to the floods of 1219, 1228 and 1248, the Jadele Monastery was abandoned. From then on, the church of St. Vitus at Jadele was used as a parish church (until 1334 during the Clemens flood, after which the site was abandoned). The ancient baptismal font probably come from this church in Jadele. So we have a historical connection to Jadele through these items. From our church community, the desire arose to give our church, which previously had no name, the name of the Jadeleer Church (St. Vitus). The first place of worship in Schweiburg, a thatched chapel, was completely destroyed by the Martini flood in 1686. The residents of Schweiburg also had to withdraw at the time. It took 76 years before a new church could be built. The construction of the church was realized in Oldenburg's so-called Danish period, which lasted more than 100 years. In the meantime, in 1717, the Christmas flood had once again completely destroyed the settlement efforts in Schweiburg and the dike construction that had restarted."
