Church Notes: church ca. 1295; documented 1307; modified 1495 as 'Kirchenburg', a fortified church;
The present font in this church is said to be from the same period as the altar, the second half of the 17th century; it consists of an octagonal basin raised on a splaying octagonal pedestal base; the whole font is painted and guilded with reticular and foliage patterns. No cover present; it uses a metal basin with cover supported on the upper rim by a white frame; the basin was made of copper in the 19th century and bears a German inscription identifying Geeorg Brukner as the donor [NB: the Siebenbürgen region of Romania is predominatly German-speaking]. [NB: we have no information on the of the medieval church here]
