Font Notes:
Noted and illustrated by Emiliano Pérez Mencía in InterBenavente [https://interbenavente.es/art/8826/iglesia-de-santa-colomba-de-las-carabias-bien-de-interes-cultural] [accessed 23 October 2022] as a monolithic baptismal font made by local stonemasons from nearby quarried stone: "una pila bautismal, de una sola pieza, elaborada tal vez por canteros del Valle de Vidriales, y con piedra procedente de alguna de las antiguas canteras existentes antiguamente en la sierra de Carpurias." The font is of classical design: roughly hemispherical basin on a conical pedestal base and round-to-square lower base. all of it decorated with just a few mouldings; probably 15-17th century. No cover present but the upper rim of the basin has two metal staples to anchor one.
