Church Notes: brick church of ca. 1220-1230; modified 1673; restored 1913
Baptismal font made of granite probably at about the time of the building of the church itself, ca. 1220-1230; it consists of a round irregular basin, between cylindrical and hemispherical, decorated with a broad vine all around; raised on a round-to-square, not quite a cushion capital, decorated with tiny human heads on the upper corners, while the four panels are decorated with Trees of Life, each somewhat different from the other, framed in an irregular arch-head. The Baroque wooden cover of 1649 was donated by Kai von Ahlefeldt and his wife Margarethe of Gut Saxtorf.
