An article in the 6 April 2022 edition of Der Nordschleswiger 'Wo ist der historische Taufstein aus der Kirche in Norderbrarup geblieben?' raised the issue of the disappeared stone font from the Romanesque church here. built ca. 1200 and demolished in 1932; among other details the article notes that the old stone font was in use until 1486, when it was replaced by the Gothic bronze font now in the church [cf. BSI entry for Norderbrarup No. 2]; church records inform that the stone font was still located next to the vicarage in Nørre Brarup, whence it was moved to the foresters' house at Groß Brebel; the font is recorded still there in 1990 by Jens-Uwe Andresen, who bought the house in 1990. A later uncorroborated report places the font at a poultry farm in the venicity of Schleswig. This same article notes on the existence of two undated B&W photographs in official archives: "Im Bildarchiv der Universität Marburg und im Landesdenkmalamt Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel befinden sich zwei undatierte Fotografien des Taufsteins, wobei die Bildunterschrift besagt, dass das Bild im ehemaligen Forsthaus in Brebel aufgenommen wurde." One of those B&W photographs is reproduced in Doris Ambrosius' 6 April 2022 article in the SH:Z [https://www.shz.de/lokales/kropp-stapelholm/artikel/wo-ist-der-historische-taufstein-aus-der-kirche-in-norderbrarup-geblieben-24057334] [accesed 14 October 2022].
