Church Notes: original church perhaps ca. 1200; much modified since
The font is not mentioned in this church's entry in the Enciclopedia del románico [www.romanicodigital.com]. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed October 2022] report: "la pila es románica, de copa lisa y tiene una base más elevada de lo normal." The font consists of a plain bucket-shaped basin raised on a round base with a torus-scotia-torus moulded stem and a two-step circular plinth; the height appears indeed taller than usual as noted in Nebrera Perdiguero above. No cover present.
