Listed and illustrated in Solhaug (2001) as the surviving base of a medieval Gotland font of the 13th centuryimported into Norway; the two fragments, a moulded cylindrical stem and a moulded circular base; the font was restored [cf. infra]. Mentioned in Gravgaver [https://www.gravgaver.no/gotland-dopefonter.htm] [accessed 2 October 2022] as one of twelve medieval fonts imported from Gotland into Norway: "Borre (av kummen er kun fragmenter bevart), Eidanger (kun fot), Fon (nederste del av kummen), Hidra (skaft og fot), Holmedal (skaft og fot), Hvaler, Nøtterøy (kun underdel), Ramnes (skaft og fot, fire hoder skyter ut fra vulsten), Sannidal, Sæbø, Tanum, Våle." Noted and illustrated in Norske Kirker [https://www.norske-kirker.net/tag/ryde-og-berg/page/3/] [accessed 3 October 2022] as an old font restored in the 1890s: "Døpefonten av stein skal være svært gammel, men ble omhugget i 1890-årene." [NB: the stem and lower base appear to be the original, but the basin may be a total new addition -- Solhaug illustrates both an earlier drawing showing only the base and her own photograph showing the full restored font]. No cover present.
