The parish web site for Röhrsdorf [https://www.kirchgemeinde-roehrsdorf.de/unsere-kirchen/kirche-roehrsdorf/] [accessed 1 September 2022] highlights the 1738 baptismal angel by Benjamin Thomae in this church: "Eine Besonderheit ist der wohl schönste Taufengel Mitteldeutschlands, der vor jeder Taufe vom Kirchenhimmel herabschwebt, um die Taufschale zu tragen [...] Der barocke Taufengel erinnert beim Besuch dieser Kirche an die „himmlische“ Gabe der Gotteskindschaft." The font itself is also noted in the same source as being 14th-century, inherited from the medieval church demolished in 1737: "Der Taufstein aus dem Vorgängerbau der jetzigen Kirche stammt wahrscheinlich aus dem 14. Jahr- hundert." The surviving basin of the 13th-century(?) baptismal font is decorated on the sides by double-arch round windows, which have in the central spandrel a much-eroded roundish bulge; were they heads originally?; the original basr was lost and a new pedestal base is place now.
