Present font is Baroque, made of white sandstone in 1735, is described in the Historische Kirchengemeindelexikon der Evangelisch-lutherischen Landeskirche Hannover [https://kirchengemeindelexikon.de/einzelgemeinde/bad-essen/] [accessed 23 July 2022] as having a base with two putti holding the coat of armas of the Bussche Family [="Barocke Sandsteintaufe von 1735, auf der von zwei geflügelten Putten getragenen Kuppa das Wappen der Familie von dem Bussche."] [NB: we have no information on the fontfrom the medieval church here]
