A communication from Pol Herman (e-mail of 21 July 2022) noted: "I found the catalogue of the auction of 8 and 9 May 1928 at Amsterdam of the “van Stolk” collection: https://digi.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/diglit/muller1928_05_08/0035/image,info [accessed 21 July 2022]. It mentions the sale of the Romanesque baptismal font of Berkel (Netherlands)" [cf. ImagesArea for a copy of the entry in the above catalogue: Frederik Muller & Cie. [...]; Musée van Stolk [...] Musée van Stolk, fondé à la Haye en 1902: 300 sculptures et tableaux Xe - XVIe siècles, objets de vitrine, art textile, etc ; la vente aux enchères publiques aura lieu à Amsterdam dans la Grande Salle de Ventes de Frederik Muller & Cie., les 8 et 9 mai 1928 — Amsterdam, 1928 [https://digi.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/diglit/muller1928_05_08/0035/image,info] [accesed 22 July 2022]. [NB: although described in the above catalogue as "Fonts baptismaux [...] Art roman" it is not clear how accurate that description is; the catalogue gives the provenance as the Protestant church at Berkel, sold by the church wardens in 1915 -- this font may actually refer to the same baptismal font listed in BSI as Berkel en Rodenrijs No. 1, which is actually Gothic, and believed to have been acquired by the Louvre]
