Listed in Stefanie Meier-Kreiskott's Spätgotische Taufsteine im deutschen Südwesten [https://edoc.ub.uni-muenchen.de/13552/1/Meier-Kreiskott_Stefanie.pdf] [accessed 16 July 2022] as a 15th-century chalice-shaped font consisting of a dodecagonal basin of reddish sandstone on a moulded pedestal base; the author suggests that the heraldic frieze may have been a later re-carving; the coats of arms belong to the Baden-Sponheim and Eberstein families; they are repeated three times and separated by blank shields.
