Noted and illustrated in the Deutsche Inschriften Online, DI 84, Lkr. Weilheim-Schongau, Nr. 51 (Manfred Merk), in: www.inschriften.net, https://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:0238-di084m015k0005101 [accessed 14 July 2022] as a baptismal font of sandstone bearing an inscription in Gothic minuscule which dates the font to 1477 and names the rector at the time, one Rupertus Mayr; the font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin, plain but for the inscription on the sides, below the upper rim: "Anno · d(omi)ni · mi(llesim)o · cccc · lxx7 · domine · rvopertvs · rector · hvi(vs) · eccl(es)ie" [NB: the carver has used decorative motifs as word separators in the inscription, several types of floral motifs, a star, a human face, etc.]; raised on a short cylindrical stem, and a round-to-square lower base. The wooden cover appears modern.
