Font Notes:
Listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [http://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10021216] [accessed 27 June 2022] as a baptismal font dated 1551-1610. The font consists of an octagonal basin with a rounded underbowl, raised on a pedestal base of baluster shape that clearly does not match the top [cf. infra]. Middle-dome cover of wood with acorn(?) finial. A communication from Pol Herman to BSI (e-mail of 6 June 2022) notes: "The baptismal font is composite. The octagonal limestone basin resembles the basin of Gussignies, the bowl shaped basin has therefore gothic and baroque elements. The column and the base do not fit well onto the bottom of the basin, and are certainly later [...] Maybe the destruction of the village in 1572 could be a good lead for dating this font’s basin, or the building of the new choir in 1616. Genicot dates it 17th."
