Scene Description: "El codillo que marca la separación entre el presbiterio y el ábside ofrece una solución un tanto singular que no hemos visto en otras iglesias burgalesas. Se trata de la colocación de dos columnillas de canon muy corto que sólo llegan hasta la altura de la primera imposta. Ambas presentan una basa muy desgastada y unos capiteles de forma cúbica decorados con una especie de toscos mascarones originados a partir de esquemáticos elementos vegetales. El paralelismo más cercano, tanto en tipología como en estilo, lo encontramos en la ventana absidal de Lastras de las Eras, lo que indica a nuestr o entender la par ticipación de un mismo taller." Baptismal font of stone consisting in a crude and irregular roughly-hemispherical basin, raised on a short cylindrical stem and a quadrangular lower base. Wooden cover. The baptismal font here is not mentioned in the entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [www.romanicodigital.com]; the Enciclopedia (ibid.) notes an ineresting pair of little colonnettes in the chancel [cf. ImagesArea]. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed June 2022] does not mention the font in it, either.
