Listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [http://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10970] [accessed 1 June 2022] as a baptismal font made of limestone in the 14th century [NB: the lower base, howver, is made of platered bricks]; the decoration consists of a torus-scotia-torus on the basin sides, and a eight square flowers around the sides of the underbowl chamfer; an inner basin insert made of metal was added in the 19th century. No cover present.
A communication from Pol Herman to BSI (e-mail of 19 May 2022) suggested cognate fonts at Opbrakel, Waarbeke, Sint-Maria-Oudenhove and Nieuwenhove, in the same area.
