Font Notes:
Noted and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [http://balat.kikirpa.be/object/22566] [accessed 20 May 2022] as a baptismal font made of stone in the 17th-century. The font consists of a wide and shallow round basin raised on a baluster-shaped pedestal base; the pedestal base has four cherub heads set at 90-degree angels about halfway down; the tiny lower base is moulded. The entry for this church in the Vlaanderen Onroerend Erfgoed [https://inventaris.onroerenderfgoed.be/erfgoedobjecten/59217] [accessed 20 May 2022] mentions no font in it. A communication from Pol Herman to BSI (e-mail of 15 May 2022) notes: "To the northwest of the entrance, under the tower, is a baptismal chapel, which is no longer in use. The baroque baptismal font in black limestone (also fallen into disuse) dates from the seventeenth century. Its baluster column is decorated with 4 heads. The baptismal chapel is closed to the public and is used as a storage place and as a technical room for electrical cabinets [cf. ImagesArea], so that its historical value is lost."
