Font Notes:
The Commission départementale des monuments historiques du Pas-de-Calais (Arras, 1862) p. 140 [https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k57300312/f156.item] [accessed 18 May 2022] informs that this was a very rich church before the Revolution, and that it had a baptismal font of copper [="des fonds [sic] baptismaux en cuivre"] [NB: it is possible that the copper "fonds" may have been a reference to the baptismal dish rather than the font itself]. Achmet d' Hericourt's Notice sur l'eglise d'Ablain-St. -Nazaire (Arras, 1862) mentions a baptismal font in Ablain Saint-Nazaire as being relocated to the northwest corner of the church by M. l'abbé Pingrenon in the mid-19th century: "Des fonts baptismaux sont placés à l'extrémité occidentale de cette nef [côté de l'Evangile]" p[NB: this source does not give any further information on the font itself, whether it was an old or a new one being relocated at the time]. [NB: we have no information on the baptismal font in the new church of 1932].
