On peut y lire les inscriptions : dit spas va is gegeve door iosyne top via ian van daele overleeden 9 bre 1658 bidt voor de siele l bacq fecit insul." The entry for this churfch in NordEscapade [https://nord-escapade.com/poste/eglise-saint-pierre-steenvoorde/] [accessed 15 May 2022] notes: "Les fonts baptismaux (1658). Placés dans une jolie chapelle éclairée par des vitraux, ils sont en marbre noir et portent une inscription qui fait le tour de la cuve, relatant les noms des donateurs, de l’exécutant, et l’année de donation. Le couvercle a été refait après 1918."
