Church Notes: originally collegiate church suppressed 1221; later church dedicated to St John the Baptist and village sacked in 1340s and 1405; re-built 1507; destroyed WW1 -- listed in Mérimée [ref.: PA00108329]: "15e siècle"
Noted in Kees de Wildt's Doopvont de Beeldenstorm (2018: 114-120) as one of a number of baptismal fonts of the Westerkwartier (then part of Flanders, later in France) having been desecrated, damaged or destroyed during the Iconoclastic Fury of 1566. There are two modern fonts in this church: one made of wood, the other of stone [cf.ImagesArea]. [NB: we have no information on the font(s) of the earlier churches here].
