There are photographs dated 1916 of this font and of a wall-mounted holy-water stoup in France Archives [https://argonnaute.parisnanterre.fr/ark:/14707/a011511862957RF4isJ] [accessed 30 April 2022]; the context in which the photographs were taken show considerable damage to the church in WWI. The entry for this stoup in the Inventaire Général du Patrimoine (Nancy) reports: "Le bénitier, aux armes de Pierre Petit, seigneur de Maixe, calcaire sculpté, daté 1598, a été classé au titre des monuments historiques le 30/12/1991." Il épousa Agnès Feriet et acquit "un gagnage de fief sis à Marches"; it gives the location inside the church: "On retrouve ce blason gravé sur le bénitier de l'entrée de l'église.
