A communication from Pol Herman to BSI (e-mail of 7 April 2022) provides a translation of the original Latin charter of foundation of the church at Blankenham on June 26th 1418 (Julian calendar) by the bishop of Utrecht, Frederik van Blankenheim: "Bishop Frederik gives permission to the people who live near the dike in the hamlet of “In den hamme” [i.e., Blankenham], and who now belong to the parish of Ysselhamme, to build a church with a baptismal font, a tower and a cemetery. This at their urgent request, because they live too far from the Ysselhammer church". The present whereabouts of that baptismal font are not know. The present font in this church is a small post-Reformation basin [cf. ImagesArea].
