Baptismal font included in Blomqvist's (1929) chapter on 'Figurlösa dopfuntar', in a group labelled 'Grännatypen', and dated in the first half of the 13th century. Inventoried and illustrated in Borg (2002) as a baptismal font of the Grännagruppen [cf. supra] made of sandstone ca. 1230. Jonas Haas' Frinnaryds kyrka, in JÖNKÖPINGS LÄNS MUSEUM Byggnadsvårdsrapport 2006:86, p. 10 [https://jonkopingslansmuseum.se/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Frinnaryd-ka.pdf] [accessed 17 March 2022] notes that the font dates from the first half of the 13th century; it was restored and added a new base in 1872, hence the large inscription on the side of the roughly cylindrical [slightly tapering] basin; there are a number of very short stumps around the underbowl which may be part of the restoration, or connections to former base colonnettes if original. No entry found in the SHM database for this font.
