Font Notes:
A communication from Pol Herman to BSI (e-mail of 9 March 2022) notes: In the Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Academie van Wetenschappen gevestigd te Amsterdam, 1866, page LXVIII, it is reported that the government’s engineer W.F. Leemans has sent in a drawing of a font that was found when digging a pit behind the army barracks of Grave. The work’s supervisor H.F.C. Hamilton added handwritten notes. I [Pol Herman] was unsuccessful in my search for traces of this font. Perhaps the font referred to above was from the Roman Catholic Saint Elisabeth's church in Grave [https://reliwiki.nl/index.php/Grave,_Hoofdwagt_1_-_Elisabeth] [accessed 9 March 2022] From 1674 to 1799, the church was in the hands of the protestants, but when it was given back to the Roman Catholics, it was no more than a ruin." The new font at Grave [cf. ImagesArea] is modern.
Credit and Acknowledgements: We are grateful to Pol Herman for bringing this font to our attention, for his help in documenting it
