A communication from Pol Herman to BSI (e-mail of 3 March 2022) informs of two early sources that make reference to a large stone baptismal font being discarded from the church here: 1)Aardrijkskundig woordenboek der Nederlanden, deel 8, by A.J. van der Aa, Gorinchem, 1846, p. 409 reports that before 1795 the church had a large and heavy stone baptismal font in the church; it was then thrown out north of the church tower; at the time of writing, ca, 1846, the baptismal font laid broken into pieces. 2)Spiegel van Groningen, Over de schoolmeesterrapporten van 1828, by P. Th. F. M. Boekholt and J. van der Kooi, Van Gorcum & Comp. B.V., Assen, 1996, p. 224, mentions that a report dated 1828 mentioned that a stone baptismal font had been thrown out of the church in 1795, the fragments of which font laid behind the church tower; the font is described in the 1828 report as being cup-shaped, with a height of four feet [121.93 cm] and a diameter of three feet [91.44 cm].
