A composite object that may be/have been used as holy-water stoup and is now secured to a pillar by a metal railing; it consists of a basin that is quadrangular inside and out; its sides are decorated with a blind arcade of round arch-heads on colums with capital and possibly bases [NB: the lower end is very worn and damaged, with possibly chiselled off lower corners]; along the upper sides is a pattern of X motifs, repeated all along the four sides; there are triangular motifs in the spandrels of the arcade; there is no drain in the inner basin. The base on which the basin stands is of a much later date [17th-century?] while the basin itself may be pre-Romanesque. [NB: we have no information on its origins]. [cf. BSI entry for San Millan de la Cogolla No. 1 for the baptismal font of this church]
