The font bears two painted inscriptions: on the basin: "1657 ZU GOTTES EHREN HAT JUNGFFER GERDRUT VON WINDESHEIM DISER TOFFE VERVERTIGEN LASSEN", and on the cover: "WER DA GKLAUBET UNND GETAUFFET WIRT, DER WIRT SELICH WERDEN", the latter from Mark 16, 16.
