Described and illustrated in Ann-Kristin Schöne's Langenfeld Das Osterfest wird auch in diesem Jahr von vielen Eltern als Tauftermin genutzt. Taufe ist das Symbol des christlichen Lebens, in RP.Online [https://rp-online.de/nrw/staedte/langenfeld/richraths-taufbecken-ist-800-jahre-alt_aid-21661227] [accessed 1 February 2022], a summary of which follows: The stone baptismal font has been in the possession of the community for around 800 years, which has existed since the Christianization of the Rhineland. The Richrath parish is one of the oldest parishes in the whole of the Bergisches Land. As early as the 8th century there is said to have been a church at Richrath, in which the well-known apostle of the Bergisches Land, St. Swidbert, preached the gospel. The massive, still very well preserved Romanesque tower, which points up like a huge divine finger in the wide plain between the Rhine, Wupper and Düssel, dates from the end of the tenth and the beginning of the eleventh century. The entry for Langenfeld in GPS-Wanderatlas [https://www.ich-geh-wandern.de/langenfeld-richrath] [accessed 1 February 2022] describes the material of the font as "Drachenfels-Trachyt"
