The Rijksmonumentenregister entry for this church [https://monumentenregister.cultureelerfgoed.nl/monumenten/506700 ] [accessed 17 January 2022] reports a baptismal font consisting of basin made of reddish marble raised on a limestone base daet by an inscription to the mid-17th century. The font cover was made of copper in 1826. Pol Herman adds (e-mal of 30 December 2021): "The copper lid dates from 1826. On January 12, 1826, Leonardus THUIJS, youngest son of Guilielmus THUIJS and Cornelia BIESMANS (BEISMANS BEESMANS), the unmarried messenger of the St. Pieter church, died. Leonard was baptized on 13 Jun 1751 in St. Pieter. He was buried in St. Pieter on 12 January 1826, aged 74. According to ancient tradition, all unmarried people gave a memorial gift to the church at the funeral of a friend. In his memory, the copper baptismal font cover was donated by the "youth". Diary of Rosier: it was carried by 10 young men and they have offered the copper lid for the baptismal stone, which cost of 25 guilders (Liège money)."
