A baptismal font basin made of stone in the 17th century, on a later replacement base in this modern church is illustrated in Herkgebouwen in Limburg [https://www.kerkgebouwen-in-limburg.nl/kerken/neer/martinus ] [accessed 16 January 2022].
A communication from Pol Herman to BSI (e-mail of 19 January 2022) conveys comments by Ton Boon, a local historian, that the cellars of the Museum of Maastricht hold some lion heads that he attributes to the old baptismal font at Neer. On the the present font in use [cf. supra] however, he is of the opinion that they it is a copy manufactured in 1748.
