The entry for this church in Kerkegebouwen in Limburg [https://www.kerkgebouwen-in-limburg.nl/kerken/elsloo/augustinus] [accessed 15 June 2022] reports a Romanesque baptismal font of ca. 1200 in this church. The font consists of a round basin with four human heads at 90-degree angles, now badly damaged/disfigured, a plain cylindrical pedestal base and a square lower base that appears to show the bases for four detached colonnettes that would have connected to the basin heads originally. The wooden font cover is modern. A communication to BSi from Pol Herman (e-mail of 28 December 2021) notes: "It is said that only the basin of the baptismal font could be saved from the river. For an unknown reason, the heads and the decorated side walls of the baptismal font have been chopped off. The damage cannot be attributed to the flooding."
Credit and Acknowledgements: We are grateful to Pol Herman for bringing this font to our attention and for his help in documenting it
